Lithography

Prior to this breakthrough in ink-print technology, fine art reproductions were achieved through lithography. Lithography, also known as four-color offset printing, was first used in 1798 and became a favorite form of fine art reproduction for such esteemed 19th artists as Goya, Delacroix, Daumier and Toulouse-Lautrec. Signed and numbered lithographs are still the most prevalent form of fine art prints available today.
